50k something or other HKs
Sorry, can't be arsed to log in and check accurate HKs at the moment. Got a thing going in EVE that requires a little attention.
So there won't be any streaming. Apparently my ISP can't offer a higher upload package in my area... even though they also said they do offer one. Just not here. And I was told to call and ask for an exception to be made in my case. Which makes me assume the infrastructure exists... and pisses me off more. But, in any case, there won't be any streaming. Maybe I'll make a youtube channel eventually.
Armok is up to 88, very very slow leveling. I keep getting distracted with ganking and pvp. Halfhill is insanely busy, I've been killed, and killed there a bunch. As an 88 getting kills can be tough since they are geared, but clever use of stuns and guards can get it done. I won't open up on someone there without knowing there are guards available, it'd just get me 2 shot. And my 'fighting' consists of stunning and running away anyway.
I've seen a few videos lately about pvp on the Timeless Isle and to be honest it is all that has kept me leveling. That place looks like a blast. I don't have much to add to this post honestly. Just thought I'd give an update that I am indeed still playing, just slowly.

WPvP Streaming?

Leveling through BGs is different on the hunter from the rogue. That, or the people playing now more commonly have BoA gear. The rogue could 1-shot everything I touched, except people w/ the priest shield, all the way until to DKs were in the picture. The hunter has much less burst but it is sustained a lot better.
I like the role additions to BGs, having a healer most of the time is cool. What isn't super cool is over half of a team being rogues and that happens often. Was in a game today with 7 rogues, me and 2 druids. And we still lost terribly. No excuse for that, other than the rogues all just stayed in mid trying to gank the low hanging fruit. The other team had a few priests, so shields were up everywhere and no ganking was happening.
I'm considering starting to stream on twitch.tv - I have to upgrade my internet first though. My current upload speed is capped at 1.5Mbps and I'll need at least 2 to stream decently. AT&T doesn't offer any faster speeds in my area but they said I could call and ask for an exception, so we'll see. But if I can get an exception I really have to wonder why it isn't available, I mean who doesn't like more money?
Any ideas for content? I have a few already: BGs obviously. It would probably be solo queue unless I can find people to join from my guild, etc. I'm not sure you can do BGs cross-realm but I'd love to if possible. I could also cover Emerald Dream world pvp content, I assume there is still no lack of that to be found. Another possibility is assassinations. I know that sounds weird / stupid but it was a thing one of my old guilds did. You could put up a message of the day with names in it and a bounty attached to each. A screenshot showing the date and time in chat and the corpse somewhere would net you the bounty. Stalking someone on a stream could be really fun. If they catch on and start watching it then I'd have to put a delay on it but that isn't too bad.

Been a loooong time.
50974 HKs
Its been a very long time since I updated the blog. I ended up quitting WoW soon after the last post. Then, in December I picked up EVE Online. I really love EVE but needed a break this weekend so I dug out my authenticator. Well, after I'd given up and started a new account I found my autheticator. Of course. But anyway, I'm back for a trial run of Mists of Pandaria. I started a new hunter w/ BoA gear on Emerald Dream. Name is Mcarmok. So, since I played last it seems like a TON of achievements have been made account bound. I am now at 50974 HKs! Last night I started at 49000, but Mcarmok rules WSG.
Some leveling pvp advice I've found tonight: You can now enchant your BoA gear. The enchants scale down to your level, so if you are a hunter you're gonna want Lord Blastington's Scope of Doom. If a rogue Dancing Steal and Mongoose are probably good choices. That 68 Agi that comes from the scope is just ridiculous at the low levels. Other enchants have been basic, like Stats to chestpiece and agi to legs. I need to get as much honor at low levels as I can though, I apparently don't have all the mail BoAs I need for leveling a hunter.
I'll be on EVE also, usually when I have a few hours to play for sure. This weekend would've been ideal but seeing as I just back into WoW a little I figured I'd play it. See if it gets out of my system and I quit again or I keep going at it.
I can't promise to stay this time. But I'm having fun for now and will keep killing everything I encounter between here (15) and 90. I haven't had a level 90 yet so hopefully I'll get there with this. Warlords of Draenor looks cool and I'd like to see it. Somehow it reminds me of WotLK more than BC but that is okay too. I really liked Wrath, even if it was no BC. See ya in the BGs!

More AH PvP
13541 HKs
Okay, now that I've beaten Mass Effect 3 I can get back to WoW. I haven't done a ton of pvp until this past weekend when I discovered that premade BGs can still happen! I am so damn excited it hurts. Nothing I love more than well organized, cooperative groups. The HKs just roll in, 1-200 a game. If anyone is interested, particularly redditors who I have a soft spot for :), let me know and I'll get on with you and show you how to get into the groups. If you don't want to go with me check out this thread.
The AH pvp has been going strong the whole time though. I'm starting to think bigger... going to try more high risk / high reward stuff. Looking to move into the Inscription market soon too, not just my normal JC / Enchanting stuff. Any ideas on how to get started there other than just going at it?
My list of ganking tools is coming along pretty well, I will post a huge how-to soon. I did have a video up but youtube didn't like it so I'm remaking it. Just need a little more material first.

AH PvP
11907 HKs - Still not much progress there. I'm okay with that, I'll hit a huge pvp streak again later. I go in cycles like that.
Not to say I haven't been pvping in some sense though. My friend started a WoW blog about making money and it inspired me. I read most of it but really just the posting of it got me going. I've spend huge amounts of time at the Auction House making tons of money. I tend to only deal with gems and enchants, both of which are high maintenance industries. The undercutting is ridiculous, within 2 minutes sometimes! So it takes a lot of camping and counter-undercuts. I would try and drive off the competition with deep undercuts but some of the people here are just too entrenched for that. They would just take the hit and go under material price to keep me out of the picture so we end up playing this undercut by 1c game.
Realm population plays a lot into this. My friend is on a much less populated server and he is entirely in control of multiple markets. I'm pretty sure a feat like that is impossible on the larger ones, too many like minded people. But on the other hand our economy is almost perfectly predictable and that lets me do stuff like sell everything I own on Tuesdays. Tuesday is like Christmas for the gem and enchant markets! And the weekend has lots of casual people play who tend to farm which drives the price of ore down right before. Very convenient.
How do you make money, do you have a favourite market? There are lots of options, I've seen people that just sell rare spawn vendor recipes and faction pets. Still makes a large % profit and takes little work.

Glory of the (solo) Hero
11330 HKs - disappointing, I know.
So about 10 metric shitloads of drama has come up in WoW the past week or so which has severely decreased my interest in the whole game. I won't go into it all but the TL;DR version is this: I'm not in Warsong Battalion, the leadership is / was retarded. A group of us tried to reform a new guild with a guild council. For whatever reason, that didn't happen and Thornessa (my wife) and I didn't want to get involved in another guild that had the potential to be run by an individual that we didn't have extreme confidence in. We are currently, and probably for a long time, staying in a smaller somewhat inactive guild. We will try and build something out of this since the guild leader isn't interested in recruiting, but he seems to be a very trustworthy and laid back individual. Not to say people can't join, just that the GM doesn't want to do the recruiting.
I've started a side project since I'm a fan of achievements. I'm getting Glory of the Hero entirely solo. I've got a good start!
If anyone has any tips on rogue soloing, please let me know. I'm open to any ideas you have. Currently I'm just doing the normal rogue rotation that I use in pve and pvp honestly except with a heavy emphasis on recuperate. That heal is amazing! I depend a ton on bleeds while everything else is recup, evasion, combat readiness, and good CC.

Tol Barad
This is a rant. I have a lot of those, but this one is special. It's from the heart.
So in the map above, this is how it should go. Attacking group (green) starts at the bridge, near half to ICG (Northern base) and near half to WV(South-Western Base). A few stragglers always go off to do the towers, so good on them. There are also always a few (white) that go to Slagworks (South-Eastern base) which is okay since we'll need some there soon anyway. Once ICG is on its way to being under our control half of them (also white line) need to leave EARLY and go to Slagworks. WV could also use reinforcement.
What actually happens. The red line. Lots of people in the road, in the damn fields, running around the spire for no reason or, most often, just zerging around as a giant stupid blob. Fighting outside the walls. Taking nothing. If you can't get in the front door then THINK! There are 2 others! If they are breaking us right at the graveyard then just go in another damn door. If you are not inside the base you are not helping anyone.
The biggest obstacle in TB is your own team. Our guild has a few strategies that we use when we go. Helps to guide the mouth breathing herd if they only have to worry about 2 bases. This is why I hate this place. There is nothing that even a small group of coordinated people can do to help win. If the other team isn't screaming at each other, they probably win. I hope that Mists of Pandoria pulls through with something better than this. Tol Barad makes Wintergrasp look like a tactical masterpiece.
